Booster seat boost young children up in a vehicle so that they can be positioned properly for using the vehicle seat belt. Booster seats typically come in two main styles, high-back and backless. A high-back booster will better position the shoulder belt over the child's body and also provide some side-impact protection. Some booster seats convert from a high-back to a backless booster so you can switch to a backless mode as your child gets older or when you need a more travel-friendly, lighter-weight version of a booster.
