Best Infant Car Seat for Extra Crash Protection - Nuna Pipa Infant Car Seat
•Posted on August 23 2020

While the Nuna Pipa may not be the most wallet-friendly infant car seat on this list, it was the number-one pick among many of the CPSTs we consulted (not to mention, another 2019 What to Expect Award winner). These experts raved about the adjustable base with a load leg, metal support that rests on the floor of your car for extra collision protection. There's also a red/green indicator that tells you when the base and leg are properly connected (talk about foolproof). It's recommended for babies who weigh between 4 and 32 pounds (and are up to 32 inches tall), and the seat itself only weighs about 8 pounds.
If necessary, the Nuna PIPA can also be easily installed without the base, thanks to the European seat belt path routing.
