What happens during a Tadpole showroom appointment?

Our Showroom appointment is our signature, in-depth experience, designed for first-time parents who want to explore all the essentials and build their complete registry in one visit, without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. One of our specialists will guide you through every major category tailored to your lifestyle: strollers, car seats, bassinets, nursery furniture, high chairs, and more. Many families leave with their full registry mapped out in one visit. Following your appointment, you’ll receive a personal code to apply your deposit toward your purchase, and you can begin building you Tadpole registry with confidence, unlocking extra rewards as your setup comes together.

What’s the difference between an In-Store appointment and a Showroom appointment?

The In-Store appointment is a quicker, focused session, ideal if you already know what you’re looking for and want to test a stroller or car seat (or both) in person before purchasing. It’s efficient and hands-on, great for parents who are further along in their research. The Showroom appointment is a deeper, more comprehensive experience designed for first-time parents who want to explore the full range of baby gear, build out their complete registry, and get personalized guidance from start to finish.

What if I only want to quickly look at a few strollers and don’t really need guidance?

The moment you start looking at strollers and car seats in person, questions come up and that’s exactly where we can help. After working with thousands of families, we’ve learned that an appointment is the best way to experience baby gear. It gives us time to understand your lifestyle and what you’re hoping to prioritize, so we can guide you toward the pieces that make sense for your daily use. Because of that, stroller and car seat browsing at our locations is appointment-led rather than self-guided. We want every family to feel supported, not overwhelmed by a floor full of options. If you’re planning to visit, we strongly recommend booking an appointment so we can give you the time and guidance you deserve.

Do I need an appointment to look at clothing or other baby items?

No, appointments are only required for major baby gear, things like strollers, car seats, high chairs, and other items that really benefit from a hands-on demo and proper guidance. For clothing and smaller accessories, you’re welcome to browse freely. Our goal is to make sure every family gets the most educational and professional experience possible when it comes to the gear that matters most.

How should I prepare? Do I need to bring anything?

Nothing required! If you have a list of models or categories you’re curious about, feel free to share it ahead of time, just reply to your appointment confirmation email. If you already have a universal registry, you’re welcome to keep it and link us to it. Or, if you’d like to keep everything organized and done in one place, we recommend building your registry directly with us, it’s easy, includes tiered rewards and our team supports you from start to finish.

Can I bring my partner, family members, or guests?

Our In-Store space is intimate, so a couple is ideal for that setting. If you’re planning to
bring additional family members, like grandparents or in-laws, we recommend booking a Showroom appointment instead. Our Showroom has more room for everyone to sit, explore comfortably, and really take in the experience together.

How long is the appointment?

Showroom appointments are 1.5 hours. In-Store appointments are typically 30–45
minutes.

Not at all. We work with customers at every stage. Our specialists will meet you where you are and guide you through what makes sense for your lifestyle and needs.

What categories can we cover during the appointment?

Any and all core categories: strollers, car seats, bassinets, cribs, nursery furniture, high chairs, bouncers, and more. Let us know your priorities ahead of time and we’ll make sure to focus there.

The Deposit

How much is the deposit?

- In-Store (Boston South End): $250, applied toward a stroller or car seat

- Showroom (Hingham): $500, applied toward a travel system (stroller
+ car seat)

For Showroom appointments, if you purchase just the stroller or car seat at your visit, the
deposit carries over and is applied or credited back when the full travel system is
purchased, whether by you, a family member, or through a registry or gift link.

How does the deposit work?

The deposit is collected at booking. After your visit, you’ll receive a personal code to apply your deposit toward your purchase, online or through a custom checkout link we send you. If someone else purchases car seat and stroller for you, you can then use your deposit towards other items or have it credited back.

How long do I have to use my deposit?

For the In-Store visits, you need to use your deposit within seven days of the appointment.

For the Showroom appointment, you have three months before the code expires.

Can the deposit go toward just the stroller OR just the car seat?

It depends on the appointment type.

For In-Store appointments ($250): yes, the deposit can go toward either a stroller or a car seat, your choice.

For Showroom appointments ($500): because of the depth of the experience and the time we invest together, the deposit is designed to go toward a travel system, meaning both the stroller and car seat.

If you purchase the stroller at your visit and the car seat comes later, whether by you, a family member, or through a registry or gift link, the credit carries over and is applied when that second piece is purchased.

Does the deposit have to be used on the same card it was paid with?

No. It can be applied toward any card. We can also split your order into separate transactions if different people are purchasing different items.

What if a family member (mom, mother-in-law, etc.) is buying the stroller or carseat for me?

Two options: (1) apply your deposit toward their order using your personal code, or (2) we refund the deposit directly to you once the purchase is made. Just let us know which you prefer.

What if my travel system is purchased from Tadpole through my Babylist registry?

We’ll refund your deposit directly back to you once the purchase is made from us.

Can we split the order so different people buy different items?

Yes. We’ll send separate checkout links for each item so you can forward them to the right person. The deposit can go toward any one of those transactions.

After the Appointment

What happens after I purchase my stroller or car seat?

We’ll work with you to schedule stroller pickup or can ship your items to you, whichever you prefer. For registries and purchases of $4,000+, we offer complimentary bulk delivery within approximately 30 miles of Boston. Our team can bring your larger items together and, when scheduled in advance, provide basic on-site guidance for stroller setup and car seat education.

*For addresses outside our standard local delivery area, including select New Hampshire or Rhode Island locations, extended delivery may be available for larger registry orders and can be coordinated case by case.

Do you offer car seat installation?

Yes, we can schedule it after you purchase your car seat. Just reach out and we’ll coordinate a time.

Can I add Tadpole items to my Babylist registry?

Yes. You can add items directly to your registry and buyers can purchase through your registry link.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes, we offer free shipping on orders over $45. If you’d prefer everything delivered together rather than items shipping separately from the registry, let us know and we can coordinate that after your purchases reach $4,000.

Yes, we have two locations serving the greater Boston area and the South Shore. Our Boston shop is in the South End at 58 Clarendon Street. Our South Shore location is by appointment only and in Hingham at 10 Keith Way, Unit 5, just behind Derby Street Shops.
